The older I get, the more obvious my needs became. I hated the overwhelming anxiety and heart-racing fear that came when I thought about my education, my career, getting married, and my future, in general. The uncertainty of life was enough to send me into hopelessness.
Though the Lord tells me in His word to not be anxious and not to fret, I still find myself doing it. Social media along with aging can be a constant reminder of where you are not in life (it scares me) and what you are lacking. Ah! How do I stop this feeling?
Well, friends, I found the secret––and it would be selfish of me to not share!
The Secret
The young lions lack and suffer hunger;
But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.
Psalm 34:10
Psalm 34 verse 10 is the secret. Yes, the secret to not lacking good things is seeking the Lord Jesus Christ. Seeking the LORD and truly trusting Him takes away the burden, anxieties, and worries of having to take care of yourself and your needs.
It’s not enough to just know of this beautiful scripture. You need to practice it because faith without works is dead. Hide and ponder it in your heart to make sure you obey His word.
When Seeking The Lord
When you’re seeking the Lord, you must seek Him until you find Him; and if you have faith He will reveal Himself to you. But when you find Him, please be vigilant, because seeking the Lord is not something that is done once. I say this because after I first got saved, I sought the Lord for months. After He revealed Himself to me, I stopped. Don’t make the same mistake friends. It’s a dangerous and tragic mistake to make for both your life and your spiritual life. You must seek the Lord Jesus Christ and you must seek Him continuously.
I seek the Lord Jesus Christ through faith, ceaseless prayers, reading and practicing His word (The Holy Bible), and worship––Lots of worship. I’m in a new season in my life, the Lord has made everything new for me. Though, whatever season the Lord chooses to place me in, seeking Him and putting Him first will always be my number one priority.
